Position Summary

Reporting to the V.P. Maintenance, the Director of Maintenance Operations (DOM-O) shall strive to meet the operational maintenance requirements of the business. This includes ensuring that the day-to-day aircraft on-time performance meets or exceeds current industry standards. The DOM-O shall manage the activities of the approved maintenance organization in accordance with the policies set out in the manual.

This is a permanent full-time position located in Winnipeg, MB (YWG)

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Responsible for exercising quality control over the maintenance function
  • Pursuant to CAR 726.07, CAR STD 726.07 and CAR STD 406.38, establish an evaluation program to maintain the effectiveness of the maintenance control program and to determine failure rates and recommend action dependent upon evaluation of analysis results for aircraft
  • Responsible for the performance of maintenance, Inspection Programs, overall aircraft serviceability and personnel performance, and make recommendations to the Person Responsible for Maintenance
  • Perform all other duties as detailed in Perimeter’s MPM/MCM
  • Pursuant to CAR 726.07, CAR STD 726.07 and CAR STD 406.38 establish an evaluation program to maintain the effectiveness of the maintenance control program and to determine failure rates and recommend action dependent upon evaluation of analysis results for aircraft
  • Develop amendments to the technical publications as required by service experience and/or manufacturers’ recommendations or amendments
  • Ensure that the MPM and MCM are amended as required to reflect the current maintenance organization
  • Ensure that inspection and maintenance records are originated and retained with respect to the overall inspection and maintenance functions
  • Develop amendments to aircraft component maintenance and inspection procedures
  • Approve and maintain records for weight and balance amendments, equipment lists, loading data and electrical load analysis
  • Ensure that a system of control is originated and maintained with respect to lifed items for all aircraft and aircraft components
  • Be responsible for the custody and amendment of maintenance publications and other technical data
  • Originate and maintain individual aircraft files relating to the maintenance history of aircraft and installed components that have been certified as airworthy
  • Ensure that applicable Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins are evaluated and complied with as required within the specified time constraints.
  • Responsible for monitoring the performance of:
  • Maintenance actions
  • Inspection programs
  • Overall aircraft serviceability
  • The Quality Control program
  • Routine maintenance inspections
  • Inspection and maintenance records originated and retained with respect to the overall inspection and maintenance functions
  • Amending company documents, maintenance publications and other technical data
  • Assist and step in for department as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Minimum four years relevant professional experience within the aviation industry in progressively more responsible positions
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations
  • Sound understanding of safety, risk management and quality assurance
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Leadership Development training
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
  • Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset

Working Conditions

  • Some travel may be required
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations
  • Work mostly performed in an office environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
