Meet The Crew

Employee Spotlight: Amy Nore

by Perimeter Aviation 3 min read

For some, aviation wasn’t on the radar until the opportunity landed in their lap. That was the case for Amy. When she came across a job posting for Crew Administrator her eyes were opened to the possibilities within the industry. With a lifelong love for working with numbers, and a goal to build a career in finance, the opportunity of processing flight crew payroll felt like a perfect fit for her.

Equipped with a certificate from Red River College in Business, Accounting, and Management, Amy stepped into the world of aviation with intrigue. Now, a year and a half in, she’s found herself captivated by the many different aspects of the industry and is eager to continue growing within it.

Always up for a challenge, Amy thrives on the complexity of the pilot payroll system, which oftentimes can be described as similar to solving a puzzle, one that she enjoys tackling. When it comes to pilot pay, multiple factors come into play each day: different credit types such as flight credit, duty credit, and minimum daily credit, along with both the original and actual schedules. Add in considerations like seniority, fatigue rules, and hours, and it becomes a true test of precision and problem-solving Another highlight is getting to work closely with the team in the Systems Operation Control Centre (SOCC), where teamwork and collaboration is key.

When deciding where to work, part of what drew Amy to Perimeter was the company’s commitment to serving Indigenous communities.

As someone with Indigenous heritage, it’s one of the things that made me feel confident in applying to Perimeter.

Despite the company’s changing landscape, Amy appreciates the personal atmosphere that remains.

As an employee, I do not feel like I am just another number.

Her advice to anyone interested in pursuing a similar path?

Take a chance in a field you may have never thought of before and always put your best foot forward.

Like Amy, you might just find your wings in a place you never expected.

Amy’s journey is a reminder that sometimes the most fulfilling careers are the ones we never planned for. Whether you’re interested in finance or simply looking for a fresh new challenge, aviation could be the place where your path takes flight.
